New release of macPhone, the telephone software for Mac
The new release macPhone enables call transfer
Even as mobile phones are beginning to look more and more like computers, computers are at the same time taking on some of the functions of telephones.
A new software application from Nomado Telecom enables Mac users to call any phone in the world at the same rate as a local call, as well as providing unlimited free calls to other Nomado users.
The macPhone is the first software application for Mac to need no additional configuration and to directly synchronise with your Apple Address Book.
At the same time, it permits users to receive calls from phones in Belgium, France, the USA, and up to fifty other countries on what's called a Nomado number: an international nomadic number.
The sound quality and stability of a Nomado connection is superior to services offered by competitors such as Skype, even though the call rates are lower. Moreover, thanks to anti-echo technology you can now use this VoIP software to make phone calls without the use of headphones.
Additional features also include one that will please music lovers: the macPhone automatically pauses iTunes as soon as you pick up a phone call.
"With this new software for Mac, as well as by releasing last month an app for iPhone, iPod and iPad, Nomado is positioning itself within the VoIP mobile market which is expected to reach 100 million users by 2012 according to Juniper Research. Within the next few weeks we will have developed a version for Android." states Olivier Vermeersch, founder and managing director of Nomado Telecom.
About Nomado:
Nomado Telecom is an European telecoms operator providing services for businesses and individuals, with a base of around 5,000 clients in 100 countries. Based in Genval, Belgium, Nomado was a finalist at the BeCommerce and Enterprize Awards 2009 and according to the IT magazine datanews.be provides the best value for money VoIP service available.
IP telephony, or VoIp, is currently dominated by Skype although Google is currently attempting to enter the market. With an estimated 20% growth in the global market in 2009 and 79% market penetration in the West predicted between now and 2013 (source In-Stat), VoIP is expected to grow in popularity in the years ahead. In other words, within three years everyone will be making phone calls using their IP connection.
Sales of Mac, Apple's flagship product, have increased by 34% since last year and Apple's market capitalization overtook that of Google and Microsoft last June.
